SomayogBridlewood StudioSomayog is both a therapeutic and restorative yoga practice. It is an alternative for people who seek a gentler style of yoga and offers benefits for those who suffer from back pain.  In Somayog, emphasis is placed on the back, with exercises targeting the pelvis, lumbar, thoracic and cervical vertebrae.What makes Somayog distinct and unique is the movements and how they are performed. All Somayog exercises are practiced slowly, actively and without force. This can make Somayog appear challenging for those who are used to pushing their edge and straining to reach a certain position. The intent behind moving slowly and actively is so a student can, with awareness, feel how a muscle contracts and relaxes, as well as recognizing other muscles that also contract to assist that specific muscle.
Somayog enables participants to acquire a greater awareness of how their muscles function as well as a deeper sense of relaxation and comfort.The workshop is appropriate for both yoga teachers and practitioners.

Meditation WorkshopBridlewood StudioMeditation WorkshopWe meditate to find out who we are, to become present, joyful and peaceful, to transform ourselves and to transform our lives.In this workshop we will experience the simple state of being in the moment, the main expression of meditation. Different techniques to still the mind will be practiced. We will also discuss the benefits of meditation from a physiological, mental and spiritual perspective. We will review the main obstacles to our practice and the conditions to help us sustain a meditative state beyond the mat. This will help to liberate your intuition and sense of self and give you a healthier view on life.The workshop is open to everyone, particularly those who are advancing on a spiritual path or seeking relief from stress, anxiety or conflict.Instructor: France Laundriault

Pole DancingKanata Lakes Studio
